Annoyed With GCC Debt Recovery Limited

Options
As some of you may know a few months ago I wrote to all of my creditors and made an offer of payment. The majority of them replied to my letter accepting my offer. GCC debt recovery limited accepted my offer of £2.29 for my Choice account and £4.13 for my Kays account. I made both of these payments last month on time. However, I have since received a letter informing me that my payment was too low and also another letter informing me that because my previous payment had not been enough to clear the arrears they have added a £15.00 administration charge! How am I ever to pay off the god damn account if every month I'm getting charges added.

Has anyone else had any problems with GCC debt recovery?

I feel like just giving up. However hard I try to pay my debts it just doesn't seem to make any difference.

Jo.

If these are regular catalogue debts with no signed agreement, then neither debt is enforceable in court. You might want to remind them of that and perhaps use the letter that harrassed recommends.

In any event you should make continued payments against these debts conditional on both interest being frozen and charges being dropped.
  • Hi, how are you making your payments? I had 2 accounts with GCC and think I received these charges once when I used to pay using their giro slips, it needs so many days to reach the accounts and I wasn't allowing enough time, can't think who they passed my debt onto in the end but whoever it was they were able to take payments via standing order so saved all the hassle with payment dates.
 £2 savings - so far £20
  • Meant to add I am having a similar problem with Lloyds Asset sending me letters telling me of arrears which cost me £15 a shot - I only pay £5.50 a month. I lost it this morning and wrote to them telling them I will make no more payments as there is little point and they can pass my debt onto a collection agency for all i care.

Yes they are just normal catalogue debts. I'm still prepared to make the payment that they already accepted. It just seems like a total waste of time if £15.00 a month is being added to each account. My debt is never going to be paid off at this rate.

princess_pink I make my payment over the phone using my debit card. They usually tell me straight away whether the payment has been accepted or declined.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing a similar problem. It's so frustrating isn't it.
