Knives on public transport
Hello
I bought a set of 7 kitchen knives and knife block today. My mum can't currently drive but she'd normally take me home so I'll need to take the train from Leicester to Southampton via the London tube. Can I take them with me? They're all boxed up and I have the receipt and they'll be in a bag so no one will see them... Am I allowed to take them with me? I'm looking to avoid getting arrested!!
Cheers

I doubt very much that you would have any problems, as long as they are not out of the box in view.
I get the train everyday and no one has ever asked to check my bag - if they did I'd tell em to sod off :rotfl: (unless of course they were a police officer, cos then its not worth the hassle of a sod off!)Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
In these circumstances you should have no problems.
Just don't take them out to have a look at them on the train.0 -
Can we assume that you're over 18?
AFAIK it is not an offence to carry a knife/knives in a public place if you have "good reason" to do so.0 -
I am over 21 and will have my ID. Promise!!Kavanne

so if, for any reason, I need to explain myself it's just 'i had no other way to do so, here is my receipt, I just want to cut things more efficiently in the kitchen, officer'

If anyone asks, stab them and continue your journey.
Taking them out also helps to get a seat of your choice.0
