No - £350 / £400 for a pet quality. £800 or so for breeding queen, possibly £1000 for a stud with a seriously good pedigree http://www.maine-coon-cat-club.com/kittens/ . Have tried for photo, but he doesn't like the flash. I have some on other computer will put them on in a bit.
    Thanks for that patch

Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

I have a moggy too - I actually like the mixture, the Maine Coons are a bit different and have quite specific traits which I love, but I adore my big soppy tabby cat too. Think I'll always have at least 1 of each.

What are the specific traits of the maine coon?

Plasterer....give us some vital stats for Bilbo...weight, height, bicep, paw width etc! He is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous and I want him to join my gang!

I'll get on it when he comes back in. ;)

PS The funny thing is that Tango in the picture is not a small cat

I have moggies and ragdolls too, but for size my biggest Maine Coon male wins every time, but for lying upside down in my arms agazing at me in bed in the morning give me my Moggie tabby boy with the kinky tale! For beauty my Raggie wins he is just so beautiful.

Maine Coon traits - they are the largest cat breed with boys reaching up to 22 lbs ( I boy of mine is 20 lbs, the largest cat in the world is a Maine Coon http://www.verismocat.com/htmscripts/leo-guinness.htm. They have long, glossy water resistant fur with a short undercoat and if kept cool enough have a ruff ( they come from Maine New England, so thick coat for cold winters). They have long fluffy tails and ear tufts. They have characterisitic voices with a wide range of noises - one of my boys chirrups and the other shouts in a hoarse raucous voice like he is a 40 a dayer. My first Maine Coon girl years ago used to 'quack'!

They are the gentle giants of the cat world. Chilled, but like people and there is usually at least one with me most of the time.

Back to the polydactyl - Maine Coons can quite often be found with polydactylism. Interesting that my Maine Coons are the most dextrous of my cats adn i would be very interested to see a polydactyl cat as my feeling is that they would almost appear that they had hands.

My biggest boy stands on his back legs and opens doors, cute, but irritating sometimes! (standing on his hind legs he is as tall as a toddler.)
