New oven & washing machine tripping RCD!

I would try putting the cooker supply on the second side so its not on the same RCD as the kitchen ring.

Ill make sure we try that at the weekend and see what happens!

Just tried the washing machine again and it triped 8 minutes into the cycle. Put it onto rinse and spin and its fine. Hopefully its just the element at fault then it will only cost a few quid to replace!

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that it looks like it was a faulty fuse in the consumer unit causing the problems. We turned it off and it wouldn't turn back on again. Put a new one in and the oven hasn't tripped since!

Measured the earth leakage and that was fine but the element on the washing machine does appear to have a fault so having to replace that!

Hi again,

Turned out it wasnt the fuse but a damaged cable in oven. The cables were supposed to run through a hole with a smooth edge but one of them hadnt been secured and had slipped under a sharp bit of the casing and had almost cut through the cable.

The Whirlpool man fixed it and its been fine ever since!

Just the washing machine element to replace now!
