Have just moved house and not used the idect phones for around 15 months (due to us being in rented and no landline) and am having problems getting them charged and ready to use.
Have opened up the handsets and found the batteries (rechargeable 2/3 AAA 1.2 volt ) .Have put the handsets on the charger unit and they dont seem to work.
As they are rechargable batteries , should they charge up from the base unit ?
Have rung my number from my mobile and they ring but cant answer or get any info on the phone LED screen.
am i missing something simple ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

They are just standard aaa rechargeables, give them a charge in a charger or replace with new ones.
They should re-charge in the base, but they may well have been ruined by lack of use.0 -
I had one of these, and the batteries died after about 12 months use, best advice is to chuck it and buy a phone with a decent lithium ion battery in it.
You will have problems finding a good rechargable 2/3 AAA, at a decent price.0 -

You can get replacements at Maplins but they are probably not financially viable.

Thanks , after weighing up cost of 4 batteries ( + P & P ) and how long they might last , I'm going to buy a new twin phone set.Read quite a few bad reviews of my Idect phone as well , cant remember how good/bad they were as have not used it in over a Year.
All I need now is a decent phone with gettable replaceable batteries
Any reccomendations ?The truth shall set you free.....................0 -
I recently purchased some Panasonic Dect Phones, they take standard size aaa's ( rechargeables ) they are superb.0
