ex wants access to child after 3 years no contact. On low salary but not low enough to get legal aid. Many valid reasons why ex should not see child. Solicitors fees extremely high - does anyone know where or if I can get assistance. Doesn't seem fair that I am being penalised for wanting the best for my child.

    What are the valid reasons?

Would you allow access in a Contact Centre?

    How old is the child?

I am assuming he has got himself a solicitor.

Is it just a letter from his solicitor or has he invoked the court process?

Some solicitors do free legal clinic or free first hour (but be aware they will be trying to get your business), they could at least give you a feel for if the court would consider your reasons strong enough to maintain the current level of access.

Did he have an access agreement in place previously?
