Yes. UK passports can get it on arrival. Not sure about others but check here http://touregypt.net/visa.htm or contact London embassy.

I have no idea about non-UK passports

Uk passport holders need a visa ( easy to purchase at airports- in £ or US$ .. the latter better if you already have some) ... although if you are going to sharm and don't plan to do any diving or visit the National Park / longer excursions , then just write Sinai Only on back of arrival card ( usually issued on planes ) and no need for visa

You only need a VISA if you are leaving the sinia peninssular ie. if you intend visiting ciaro or Luxor. Me and the family traveled to Sharm in May when we got to the airport they do try to push the Visa on you if however you decide later on that you want to leave the sinia your rep can sort this out for you. Another tip in Sharm Airport watch out for the porters they try to sell you trolleys that do not work and once out side the Airport keep a tight hold onto your luggage as they try to load it onto your bus and then expect a hugh tip. We saw this happen to a few people but if you stand firm they do leave you alone. Have a great time we loved it in Egypt:beer:

The trolleys are freely provided at the airport, but locals will stand close by and try to offer you a "service".
Similar with toilets. Locals won't pay but tourists will be give paper, soap etc. and expected to tip.

It's always difficult because you want to help people but don't want to get ripped off.
Don't feel you have to give huge tips.
I feel that 10p is adequate for a pee (and they were happy with it).
They are not providing western standards and don't have western costs.

The soldiers are very poorly paid, so try to spread your tips fairly.
