Well I've written notes to do an essay on Kenya and the growing trend in ecotourism there and Croatia and the availability of cheap flights and accommodation. I'm just looking for some diagrams on the net now which will support it. Hopefully that will be OK. If it isnt I'll commit hari kari right here and now.

Only I'm in the 3rd year of a degree in Tourism Business Management and I had to do an essay similar to this last year so I could give you a few pointers if you need any.

Have to say that your tutor sounds a bit of an !!!!!! on this though.
"'Identify two areas of growth within the tourist industry" does not mean 2 areas as in physical areas or destinations or the question would have been identify 2 destinations which have grown!!!

I think you were right in the first instance as pointing out that the internet as a tool for booking holidays is a huge area of growth within the industry and I'm doing my dissertation now on that right now!!

There are other ares of growth as pointed ouit by other posters - Eco-tourism, boutique hotels etc, but enother area you could look at is the huge increase in cruises taken by the UK.

Do you have access to Athens via your college - you can get some great resources from there including Mintel reports.

Just to let you know that the essay I redid was returned today and I got an A for it. Thankyou thankyou to everyone who helped me out and gave me pointers of what to write about. Wish I had you all here when I'm doing the rest of them.
