One car insurance policy cheaper / better than two?

Hi!
My other halfs car insurance policy is due soon. She now has four years no claims bonus. Until now we have had seperate insurance policies, but I am wondering if it's cheaper to put her and her car on my policy - does this work out cheaper and are there any drawbacks?
Thanks
Kevin

Unless you have a multi car policy you can't. Some insurers will give you a discount if you insure another car with them.0

Thanks for the reply.
I've just phoned privilege and you're right, they won't add a car onto my existing policy.
Rephrasing the question then, is it sensible to take out a new policy for the both of us and both our cars and cancel my old policy?
Regards

Multi car policies are still fairly rare - the main risk with them is if you have an accident you will lose the NCD off both vehicles!
A lot of insurers (including privilege) do however do a second car discount - there are often some rather "ism" requirements (eg second vehicle must have a female main driver) but they will often mirror the NCD of your primary vehicle onto the second car in addition to giving your new business discounts. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

They do up to 4 cars on 1 policy.
I have been insured with these for 2 years on a motorcycle policy with no problems so far0
