are you just on I/B and NO means tested benefits? If the answer is yes then its no problem as I/B itself isnt means tested0

Am on council tax benefit too
am I in trouble0 -
did the rebates take your savings over £6,000? if not then youre not in trouble,if they did but still less than £16,000 you will owe some benefit back to them.0

yesdid the rebates take your savings over £6,000?
does this mean trouble
sorry to be a pest
I think my incap is means tested as I am on a pension.
who am i in trouble with?
thanks0 -
IB will only count your Pension for income, not anything else. As far as IB is concerned you can have as much savings as you like.
Council Tax Benefit however will need to know if it is over £6k. I don't think you'll be in trouble however; just aplogise for not doing it earlier, and they'll probably just stop your Benefit and/or arrange for you to pay back the overpayments.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Thank you.
Much appreciated.0 -
Haven't we been here before with this question?0

Tell CTB asap- the longer you leave it the more in arrears you will get. A few months overpaid CTB will not amount to a very big overpayment, and if you go in unpromted they will probably treat it as a mistake.0
