  • I bought this mp3 player because it looked like just what I was after....but when I got it I found that it didn't have the radio that it was advertised with. I'm a bit cheesed off because I really wanted one with a radio.

I contacted Pixmania but all I got back was an email saying they had two mp3 players with the same code, and the one I ordered doesn't have an FM radio. It is true that they have two similar mp3 players and I saw the other one on their website. However, the one I ordered did -say- that it had an FM radio. I copied and pasted the text so I know that's true. It was obviously a mistake on the original listing, because they have since changed it.
But, at the point of sale, it was listed as having an FM radio, and that was what I thought I was buying.
I am getting nowhere with Pixmania, who just keep saying "you ordered the one without the radio". When I ordered, I ordered a product that claimed it
-did- have a radio, and it is the misrepresentation that I am fed-up about. Has anyone else had any dealings with Pixmania? I haven't used the mp3 player, and I'm waiting to get a satisfactory response from them, but I don't know what to do.

    Any advice appreciated.
    Thanks.

I had a similar problem with a Samsung YP-U2 from Hughes Electrical. I didn't care much, as I bought it for the Ogg support, not the FM (FM here is terrible). There seems to be a disease of misadvertising flash music players as having radios this summer, though.

Pixmania are absolutely useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to run around to get a refund for a camera I returned to them....everytime you want to speak to someone above the call handler you are told they are in a meeting and will call you back.......they tell a pack of lies.....my calls and emails were never responded to. Never Ever will I buy anything else from them. Its just not worth the hassle....

Hi - I have a very similar unit (badged Aiwa).
The display, although backlit in several colours if you want, is very small, and for this 40something, almost impossible to read even with my +2.0 reading specs!!!!
Works well as a usb memory stick though, which is what I now use it for!!

LOL If they have 2 MP3 players with the same code, how can they say for sure you ordered the one without the FM? What a bunch of DHs. I'd send another email saying they can either correct it, or you'll go through your CC company to get refund (you used a CC right?)

BTW to anyone who says they've used Pixmania without problem, please tell me you had a problem and they sorted it out, rather than they just delivered the goods you ordered. You can only realistically evaluate a company's service on how they deal with you when there's an issue to be corrected. Delivering the goods correctly and on time is the absolute minimum you should be expecting!

    Hello,
this is a Pixmania related reply....

I ordered a camera for my gf's birthday a couple of years ago, it was a Canon Ixus, 4 mega pixel jobbie. Pixmania were the cheapest at around £190ish.

The camera arrived about 1 week before her birthday, and I charged it and tested it immediately. Every picture was covered in grainy lines, no matter what lighting conditions, or quality of pic you set the camera too.

I rang them up immediately, explained the situation, and was told I would have to send it back (they would arrange pick up) and that before I could get a refund it would have to be checked over by engineers to ascertain where the fault lay.
Until this point they were to able to refund me or send out a replacement!
This would apparently take up to 10 working days, once they received it.

Useless, as I needed it for a birthday present.

I also had to include a detailed description of the fault, and for good measure I included 2 printout pics, one from my own camera, and one from this faulty one.

I e-mailed them to confirm they had recieved the camera back into their posession, and I did manage to pick up a helpful e-mail contact.

I explained that a refund was in order, as I would have to purchase the camera elsewhere, I was also narked that I paid extra for express delivery, and it took about 5 days.

I think in total I must have sent around 12 e-mails - I eventually got a mail from the 'refund department' saying I was being credited the cost of the camera less the 'express delivery' that wasn't.

Understandably I was furious, mailed them back firmly but politely, and got the desired result and an apology - what on earth were they thinking?

It was a hard lesson, but has taught me to look past their prices, as if their are issues, weeks of hassle will follow, and all to get me back to my previous position.

In the end I bought it from best cameras for £210, and it was all perfect - UK plug as well!

    Dan
