i have a similar situation, i went to pick up my son 12 years ago(he was 4 at the time) only to find out that she had moved and taken my son, dog, furniture and brother with her, left no forewarding address, i found him on farcebook about 18 months ago and have been trying to re-establish contact since, i get an occasional reply to a text if im lucky, of course she has lied about me, unless she has told him that she ran away and hid because she was screwing his uncle behind my back!, its a minefield, and a very unpleasant one at that, i wish you all the best with your endeavours

She got court paper to keep me out the house when i got in from work as she was screwing someone else .A !!!! and bull story made up by her and her (bent) lawyer who eventually got struck off for criminal offences with the practice he worked.

I will tread carefully for the childs sake as there is always someone that knows someone etc

My children call their father a poor father and he would probably blame me for it and say it must be something I have told them....the truth is, the children are annoyed at their father as he very rarely takes the time to see them (he has completely open access, he doesn't have to fight for it, he just can't be bothered), speak to them or ask after them.

So the children have made their own minds up by his actions...
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I didn't have that option Sue

The child is old enough own to make up their own mind but at the same time i won't drive a wedge between the child and the mother as she has brought the child up along with her new partner.

It will come out in the wash one day when the timing is right
