PPI Lost Details - Help!!!

Hi All

I'm a bit new to this forum lark so hopefully I'm doing the right thing!! I had a loan with PPI a few years ago but have not kept any paperwork with details of the account number etc. I have written to them but they sent it back, twice!! I have also asked them to provide me with the info themselves surely I have a right to this under the Data Protection act?? I know I could get the money back if I could just get hold of the account number any ideas how I could get this???

    Hi and welcome.;)

Did you actually request a Subject access Request (SAR) letter to request for your details with an enclosed payment of £10 postal order or cheque payment?
    This one here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1475553
I would also post this by recorded delivery.

Your entitled to this, if they are not able to send you anything they should at least send you a letter and return your payment with an explanation.
However, if you have done this maybe it would be a good idea to contact the Information commissioners office (ICO) to ask for their advice on this and they may be able to help as well:
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx
They have 40 days to comply.

Hope this helps, and when the time comes for reclaiming, just as long as you get hold of that account number, you can continue to reclaim.;)

Please let us know how you get on, good luck.

Forgot to post this in my above post.

If any repayments were made out of your own bank for the loans etc, if the loans were taken out the last 6 years, and you bank online, you should be able to check your statements, where the account number would be shown next to the monthly repayments.;)

    Hi there

Yes they should send all info on all your accounts.

If they don't then write back and tell them your SAR is to request for ALL info.
    Good luck.;)
