my mistake ..the person that started the thread said one of the plumbers said it was a combi ..
Indeed and the thread is about "What do I have please because one has said system, one has said regular and the other combi so I'm confused" (to paraphrase the OP). The Orion is the next generation following the Olympic so I was wondering why you'd asked if it had a pressure guage seing as it isn't a combi any more than I am. :D

    Cheers

  • the reason i said that was because one off the plumbers thought it was a combi boiler and without looking closely a sealed system boiler could be mistaken for a combi ..

i am sure i know more than you on the subject.

sometimes you need to ask questions to give the right advice and you didnt ask any

I am sure you are an idiot if you think you know everything. I know plenty but would never say I know more than someone I have never met. I stand by what I said already, you are a danger to anyone who follows advice from someone who does not even read what is in front of them.
Obviously since you are so good you must be rushed off your feet, not sure how you have the time to be on here at all times of day and night.
    Good luck!

i dont know everything i wish i did but i do know quite alot about central heating design more than most plumbers ..i have spent a number of years going round after plumbers have fitted boilers and most of the time there is something wrong with the installation ..this is a fact i wish it wasnt but it is ..i have had 2 new houses and both had problems with the heating ..installation faults ...
we spent sometime bringing new people into the business that were corgi reg and i can tell you about 1 out of 10 was any good ...
ask me about plumbing and i wouldnt have a clue ..well i might a little but you get my point ...
my posts are here to help people if you do not like my posts then fell free to not respond to them ...

Dohh...lets not squabble..Its perfectly possible for a conventional boiler to have a "pressure guage" if it has been fitted within a sealed system, assuming the boiler is sealed system compatible and of course the gauge may or may not be adjacent to the boiler but not an intrinsic part of it...phew.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

The third one is talking out of his backside TBH and is guessing so I wouldn't go near him. The Orion is a conventional boiler with a cast iron heat exchanger. Whether it qualifies or not for the scrappage scheme if its not giving you any problems then I'd leave it alone. You'll be forking out a wad load of money to get just £ 400 back and if you've not budgeted/planned for it then it seems counterproductive monetarily seeing as how it will prolly take you 10 years to recoup the investment. A replacement boiler would have to be condensing and would entail the additional work of bringing your system up to CHeSS specification ie TRV's controls and stats etc.

i have checked this boiler out today on the laptop and keystone is 100% correct this is a conventional boiler with a cast iron heat exchanger
