I have just returned from Kenya where I didn't get bitten by any mosquito's; therefore does anyone know if i can stop taking the tablets and save them for my nxt trip to save me money or should i keep taking them.

Thanks

If your GP told you to keep taking them after you got back (I know you have to for doxycycline, not sure about malarone) then do it. Some people don't react to mosquito bites, so you may not know that you have been bitten, hence why it is important to keep taking the drug as long as is deemed necessary by a doctor. Trust me, you do not want to get malaria - especially as it is now becoming drug resistant (another reason to stay the full course - stopping taking the meds prematurely makes it easier for malaria to become drug resistant).
  • Slightly off topic OP, but just wondered did you shop around and get a good deal when you bought Malarone. Will need to buy some in time for Kenya in April.

    TIA

Sorry to butt in but have just bought Malarone for son who is off on Gap year travels & found Lloyds Chemist cheaper than Boots or Superdrug. The 51 tablets he will need cost £113.22 from Lloyds as opposed to Boots who quoted £144.64! Definately worth shopping round.
