Hi,
Am hoping for some advice on possibly reclaiming Payment Protection on my credit cards?
Forgive me is some of my questions are stupid or obvious, am not so good with this financial stuff (thank goodness for this website)!
I have a BoS credit card, which I have had for around 6 years, and another with Halifax which I have had for 3 or 4. As I have only became aware of the PPI issues, I have only just checked (shameful I know) if I have been paying this. My statements for both state I am paying Repayment Cover. Am I right in assuming this is the same thing as PPI? And would I have a potential claim here?
Thanks to all, you are all fab xxxx

its a fair guess. And would I have a potential claim here?
were you mis-sold?
Having PPI is not something you can just claim back on. The providers are allowed to offer and charge for it. Its how you bought it that matters.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Hi dunstonh,
Many thanks for your reply. To be honest, I am cannot remember any form of payment protection being mentioned at all when I got the credit card (the second one anyway). Come to think of it, I cannot remember it being mentioned on the first either! But then, that one was significantly earlier.0 -

The first one was definately in the branch, but the second may have been online. I understand that may be an issue.
I was wondering if the fact that I had existing PPI with HBoS with the first credit card would mean that I should not have required another when taking out the additional credit card with the same company?0 -
Hi, If you had two cards with the same company then you would have two PPI's as these cover a particular card or loan and not all cards/loans.The first one was definately in the branch, but the second may have been online. I understand that may be an issue.

As regards the misselling its perhaps best that you look through the reclaiming guide to see if anything applies to your sales.
