Need suggestions for bread maker recipe books

After much thought and consideration I've decided to order a bread maker (Panasonic SD254). I should receive it soon!
Although there are many recipes included in the user manual, I thought I would buy a recipe book to keep me motivated. I don't want to use white flour and I'd like to have more choice with regards to healthier alternatives like wholemeal flour.
I'd also like to make my own pizza dough, which apparently the Panasonic is very good for.
Any good recipe books you recommend?

The Panasonic comes with more recipes than I would ever need... I would wait until you've really tried all of the recipes before buying another book!
The pizza recipe is fine.
Tip for most of the recipes: use olive oil instead of butter: less hassle.0 -
How much do you want to avoid white flour? I tend to replace some of the white flour with wholemeal, regardless.
The book I have is call "The Cook's Encyclopedia of Bread Machine Baking" by Jennie Shapter. ISBN 1843095041, Published by Hermes House.
It weighs in at 256 pages, and is a mix of loaves, rolls, cakes etc (many are based on white flour mind).
Unfortunately, that book dates back to around 2002 and may be hard to find (or you might find a second hand version on Amazon marketplace etc). If you search for the author though and 'bread' you will find she's written a few. I suspect the majority of the content is republished, as my parents had a similarly titled book that pre-dated mine; so it's worth looking for other similar titles.0 -
Gmgmgm,
Why do you think butter is a hassle? And does the bread made using olive oil taste just as good?
The Pedant
I want to avoid white flour altogether for bread and pizza making, although I guess it would be difficult for cakes, etc.
Do you get good results when you replace some of the white flour with wholemeal?
I'll look for the title you recommended on Amazon. I ordered one called The Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook (also by Jennie Shapter) from my local library, but there's a long waiting list and it will probably takes months.
Many thanks for your advice.0 -
Completely agree, our panasonic came with a booklet with tens of recipes, more than enough! I followed my Mums lead and use olive oil too, don't measure it, just a glug depending on the size of loaf and it tastes excellent, highly recommend!0
