Game argument

This is not a vent of sorts, just a story I wanted to share!

I went into my local Game on Saturday with my nephew to get him a game. The queue had about 7-8 people in it. The man serving was very slow, there was a manager trying to talk to all the customers about games and acting like he was 12 when he was mid 40’s. It came to about 2 customers in front of me when the man serving shouted over to his boss

“I am just going for my fag break”. Leaving all us customers stood there thinking what!!

He and the manger had an argument over the shop floor; with me stood there covering my little nephew’s ears as there was swearing. Another customer joined in and shouted at the manger how shocking it was they were arguing and the games were s%$t anyway.

The manager told the customer if he didn’t like it to leave and never come back. I was in game for over 20 mins for a £9.99 pre owned game!
It did make me have a giggle that they could act like that in front of customers, I think I will stick to play.com from now on.

Send a letter to head office.

They might be interested in stories like this given how bad their financial results published last week were.

Personally I gave up with them years ago, which is a shame because they used to be good.

  • Shocking that. Never shop in game though, seriously, if you can avoid it. Everything is overpriced.;)

Play are just as bad but without the swearing
  • I would feel bad complaining, I might email them. I am sure the others in the queue will be complaining as well

I'm just curious what game it was they were arguing about for the other customer to chime in that they were rubbish. I don't suppose you remember?
  • Sales assistant and manager were arguing over the fact the SA wanted to leave the till and the customers for a fag, the cusomer chimmed in and added the games were S%&T as his final comment.

I hardly use game to be honest.. Its overpriced, the staff dont have a clue and don't get me started about their price discrepancies. Yet I'm confused as to why they are always busy!

Ooooh. What a random final comment lol.

I use Game sometimes. Every now and again, their pre owned prices will be decent, and they have the odd good offer (got Saint's Row 2, brand new for £5).

Also, aside from gamestation and the ONE local independent shop (who charges a good deal more for games than Game do) it's the only place with any real selection of games. Sure, Tesco has the chart games cheaper, but if you want a relatively obscure game, then only Game, Gamestation and OCCASIONALLY HMV will have them.

If we throw online shops in there, then yes, they tend to have more value and better prices, but it's worth seeing what the bricks and mortar stores are doing every now and again, too.

I'm waiting for the manager of my local Game store to leave so I can apply for his job .

I think the customer was just annoyed and my local Game is pretty carp. They have a huge section of pre owned games and a tiny section with the new ones in.
