Hello all
I am a 28 year old single male.
I am at university doing a degree and i am in my 2nd year of a 3 year course. I also may go on and do a pgce year long course after this to be a teacher.
I live at home with my parents but would love to have my own place. In truth living at home is killing me. I have great supportive parents but i need my own space. The thing is my degree and pcge is the most important.
I understand that if you are disabled or a lone parent you get HB. You also get HB if you are on JB correct ? my cousin is 30 and attends a 1 day a week college course and gets his rent paid and is on the dole. So he gets his rent paid for goes to college on a course that is no way near as advanced as mine and even gets the chance to do cash jobs !!
How can i make this sutation i am in to workt he best for me.. im sure i have the best situation but i need my own place.
is there a way. Is is it tough luck wait until you have passed all your courses ?
I have a part time job in which i get paid very little money. I run a part time company on the net which i earn approx 6 - 10 grand a year from which helps me survive while at uni and have a social life.
Any info, options, views would be great

Yes, it is 'tough luck'.
Your cousin will be entitled to assistance because they are only studying part time, and they will be claiming JSA based on the assumption that they are seeking full time work.Gone ... or have I?0 -

As an independent student you will, presumably get full funding for your degree and you also have a part time job. Most students in this situation (often with less money than this) live away from their parents in shared accommodation or a bedsit so I really can't see why this is a problem for you.
You already get money provided for housing in the form of your loan, grant and bursary so I can't see what's stopping you living independently or why you should expect additional funding.0
