The Loyalty Awards Club

I received a piece of junk mail from this outfit telling me I had won a customer loyalty award and the award was one of a glittering array of goodies including a car, £10,000 in cash etc. No prizes about the next stage, the 6 minute call on a premium rate number and money to pay for insurance if I was getting an electrical item. One blog on the internet describes this as a scam. Is it worth reporting this outfit to Trading Standards for misrepresentation and has anyone else had dealings with them?
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

I received today some Jean Patique (sp ?) knives and inside was a letter from The Loyalty Awards Club. I didn't ring (being suspicious) but did text thinking it wouldn't cost so much ? I received four replies stating the Award Codes I should quote. Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, I nearly fell for it but fortunately I decided to go on this website and see it is a scamp. It just shows you should always follow your first instincs doesn't it ? Out of interest does anybody know if it will it have cost me to receive their replies to my one text ? Many thanks, Sussie0

The same letter was received by me in with my "Jean Patrigue" can opener although not with the knives I'd ordered and received previously.
This Loyalty Awards company offered the option of a postal response, so, as it required less layout, tho not expecting to receive anything, merely to see if there would be any response from them: I enclosed the stamped, self addressed envelope, as requested. Nothing as yet and that was a while ago.
I guess they made the cost of the stamp.
I received another such letter in with Jean Patrigue's catalogue today and I am about to call Jean Patrigue to enquire as to why they are including such scams in their mail and orders.
I'll be back in minutes, I trust.0 -
Ah, I mailed Jean Patrigue as the phone number given for contact is one of those 0871 numbers and "saynoto" could offer no alternative.
I have referred Jean Patrigue's customer services department to https://www.moneysavingexpert.com as I don't think they are aware of the scam with which they are associating their company.
I will copy and paste any response I receive from JP.0 -
Received the scam letter too today - 3rd November. They've changed the style of the letter heading from last year however it's still the same scam. Award code this time is 507705 operated again by Amanda Fisher. DO NOT IGNORE THIS WARNING......THIS IS A SCAM.........DO NOT REPLY TO THEIR SUPPOSEDLY WONDERFUL PROMISES. REMEMBER IF IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS!0

I got one too with my Jean Patrigue knives. It says calls cost £1.50/min and max time is 6 minutes or texting is 6 texts with max total cost of £9 plus network charge. Nice way to earn a quick buck!
You can ask for the claim number via post at:

I was thinking about doing the snail mail option too just to see if anything happens like you've done Vital Spark but guessing thats a waste of time too. Let us know if you eventually get a response! Did you include the "code printed in the bottom right of this letter"?
Ha ha, Mrs Potts, good that you posted the award code number 507705 as thats the same on the letter I got. Makes you think you are special when it says "Your Award Code: 507705" when they are all the same
there is a query contact number on 01989 760 545 (which seems to be a normal landline number?) "for any technical queries" (mon-fri 9am-5pm)
Neways, a good scam for getting a quick buck off people but im happy coz i got my 5 JP knives for about £8 something including postage (although waited about 2 months to receive them). Now I just have wait and see how long they stay sharp for ;P0 -
Hiya guys I received my knifes today too. And thanks to you guys I threw the TLAC letter away.
In the recycling bin it goes. I do remeber a few years ago I responded to a letter like this and 'won' a digi camera. But the quality of it was unbelievable it looked like somthing from a pound shop.
This letter did look convincing as the prizes were abit more pricey then they usually are on letters like this. But for some reason I thought i'd google the company and found this forum.
So thanks for saving me atleast £9 in call costs. :T
Oh and yes my award code was also 507705, funny that................;)0
