Time limit on issuing fines
I was driving my Husbands car ( I am a named driver) back in Early November and went through a Red light, He had the Noticed issued to him within 14 day and sent it back saying I was the driver. I have recived the fine today nearly 2 months on.
Does anoyine know if there a time limit on re issuing the fine to me. Thanks for your help.

No time limit. Pay the fine and thank your god that you didn't kill a cyclist, pedestrian, motorcyclist or motorist with your reckless action.0

For most traffic offences and some minor crime ones there is a limit of proceedings of 6 months. That either means the fine or the court summons must be issued within that time.0

If you don't pay, AFAIK they have 6 months from date of offence to summons you to court.
Had your OH taken the full 28days to respond initially or used some delaying tactics you might have not heard from them for a bit longer, and you could now also do your own delaying game. But as there are 4 months left to run, it's a big gamble for you to take. Unless you don't care about going to court over it, in which case delay all you like.0 -
Pay the fine. If there's no points involved, take the hit, and try paying more attention next time. As BikerEd says, the consequences could have been FAR worse than a fine.Fight Crime : Shoot Back.

As stated by the other posters there's the 6 months time limit.
If you admit you did it, would be easiest for you to accept the fixed penalty. If you go to Court you risk getting a higher fine plus you have all the hassle that entails.
Would not recommend delaying tactics, these can have a nasty habit of backfiring especially if the Court grants a warrant to arrest someone who fails to respond to a summons0
