tax credits want information from 2005 but i never recieved a p45!

hello

when i was 16 i worked for a lazer tag company when they needed me and when i got sacked that was that and i thought nothing about it, it was cash in hand and i never recieved a p45 (didn't even know what one of them was then)

i never declared it as it was only a few hours a week and i was 16 just had a kid and thought nothing of it didn't even realise i was meant to.

just rang the company i use to work for and they said everything got destroyed when the company was taken over by somebody else so what do i do?

i was claiming benifits in 2005 whilst working these odd hours what do i do? i want to put down i was working but i have no idea of my wages back then and dont want to put down something that is wrong.

working cash in hand is illegal and wouldn't of been put through there books so there is no way you would of gotten a p45 or p46.
you also commited fraud by working cash in hand while on benefits and not declaring it.

So why are you being asked about it all these years later?

thank you for reminding me Karen that was very helpful

i now know that it was illegal but didn't then or i wouldn't have done it but i want to make it correct hence why i am asking i don’t need a lecture!

and when i rang them they just said they didn't receive information for the year 2005 to 2006 , she (the tax credits) told me to just estimate my hours with minimum wage for my age back then and send it back so that is what i shall do.
