Can anyone tell me where I can find a cheap hotel in the centre of Birmingham? I'm going to a concert in Feb at the O2 academy and want to stay over...there's 2 of us going and we want to pay as little as possible for a room.

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn for £40 before which was quite respectable and was in the city centre.
Last time we stayed at the Crowne Plaza and got a good deal on that too and it was REALLY nice (Especially the club rooms!!) and that was £100 for 2 nights on a BOGOF offer through here.
You also have the usual suspects- Etap, premier inn and travelodges to look at.0 -

I think it's £45 a night. Still quite new, H stayed there a couple of times with good reports. Basic but clean .
Must be all of 200 yards from the Academy

The O2 academy is slightly out of the city centre but within a 10 minte walk to the main train stations and also the nightlife including broad street , brindley place , arcadian , mail box.
These hotels may be of use to you
ETAP Great Colemore Street, B15 2AP. 150m walking distance.(as metioned basic but is closest to venue)
Holiday Inn Smallbrook Queensway, B5 4EW. Adjacent to the Radisson.
Holiday Inn Station Street, B5 4DY. Walking distance from the Radisson and other Holiday Inn.
Hotel Ibis also very close .
Malmaison Located in the Mailbox. about a 5 minute walk (this won't be cheap but thought i would include it)
Radisson hotel
Crowne Plaza ( 5 mins walk)
There are also a couple of travelodges in Birmingham the closest is probably the one in the arcadian but personally I don't think I would walk from the O2 back there by myself.
Hope this helps :j0
