now even bigger bank charges

Because I am a low paid worker I seem to go over drawn, hsbc were charging me £125 month now I see it is £225. I asked for overdraft but they just say no. It is a way of making mony from the not so well off. I only bring home £169 a week. since the won in court seems like they can get away with anything.

I know, its not easy. I sympathise with you.

    Who do you bank with?

How much are you overdrawn by?

Do you have priority bills/ would you consider yourself eligible under hardship?

Worth posting over on debt free boards and trying to reduce your outgoing as much as possible to try to avoid going overdrawn if you canor to gradually reduce the overdraft month by month. Depending on what your other debts are it may be worth a call to one of the debt charities.
It was a stuggle for us too a few years ago, but it was the best thing we ever did paying off the overdraft and I will NEVER have one again, just a bank tactic to draw you into debt.

I have seen people open a new current account and get the wage paid in there, then make a monthly arrangement with the first bank to pay the overdraft back at so much per month. At least then the cash you earn isn't swallowed whole by the charges and you can then split what you have for debt repayment between the debts, this is where independant advice may be handy as they will look at all your debt and work out the best ways forwards.

    good luck
