Samsung fridge freezer turning on and off

We have a Samsumg SR-L36 fridge freezer that we bought about 5 years ago when we moved into our current home.

OVer the last day or so, it keeps turning on and off, there is an alarm that sounds when the fridge turns off, and it keeps beeping, restarting and turning itself off again. Then it turns itself on, beeps for a bit and turns off.

I know that calling out an engineer can cost a lot and also I wouldnt have a clue who to call other than Samsung and that seems like it would be v. expensive.

Any one any ideas??

it possibly could be a loose connection somewhere,may even bee in the socket its pluged into,if your compotant check the socket connections or try plugging something else into it,its a good chance its not the socket.but atleast that iliminates it.otherwise you will need a service engineere,at five yrs old you have to decide is it really worth it?

it may be the excessive heat it cant cope with, move things around to ensure you have good airflow to the back of the fridge/freezer.

It was the heat. We took all the stuff out of the freezer - to move into a second freezer we have in the garage - and moved the fridge freezer forward out of its place so that the air could circulate, left it for about 4-5 hours and it just started working again - and touch wood it has been fine ever since.

And I was already looking at new fridges
