Charger not supported??

Hi everyone,
I took my mobile to a stand in our local arcade to a fellow that 'unlocks' mobiles. I left it with him while I went shopping. When I came back, he said he couldn't do it just now, because he couldn't get 'online'. He put my phone back together, and gave it to me.
It has appeared to be working fine until I've come to charge it up today, and it is putting up the message 'Charger not supported' Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong, what could he have done for me to get this message?
I will be at a loss without my mobile, so your replys would be much appreciated.
