Should we cancel our zero balance credit cards

My OH and I have about three or four credit cards which all have zero balances and have done for some time which we never intend to use again.

Should we cancel the redundant cards or leave the accounts open with zero balances?

Our credit score is good but we don't know what effect cancelling these cards will make - could if affect it in anyway?

And what are the limits like? (large amounts of unused credit can restrict your eligibility to further credit - some creditors ask themselves "Can they afford what they are applying for if they used 100% of their existing limits elsewhere", not "Can they afford this on top of what they actually owe")
