With Profit Bond, disappointing return
Comments
-
I had other similar bonds with other companies and they did not perform like this at all .
Beware of RSA (now pheonix )
The reason it didnt perform was because Royal & Sun Alliance couldnt afford it any more and sold off their life and pensions business to Phoenix. Now R&SA focus on general insurance (more often known under the More Than brand).
Phoenix is a collection of failed insurance companies that is run for the benefit of the investors in the company rather than the benefit of the customer. The investments in the With Profits fund with them focus on solvency before customer return and that means they use mostly low risk, low return investments. The company has them all placed in run down.
If its any consolation to you, at least you are making money on it, even if its tiny. R&SA lost a fortune.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). DAK if Aviva have now added the final payment of three to qualifying WP bonds.
I believe this payment was due this month and was a % of the value of the policy.
It`s not a cash payment but units are added to the policy.0
