I got a sat nav / pda for christmas HP iPAQ rz 1710, I have hardly ever used the pda but the sat nav has got me out of many a pickle. It runs on the Michellin system. The other day, while removing it from the cradle, the sat nav memory card popped out, so I put it back in and now although the system is still installed it says there is no map loaded.
Big problem here, I can't find the software CD. Is there any other way of re-installing it ? ie downloading it ?.
Being my first sat nav, I was quite happy with the system, but it did not accept all the post codes I put in and some names, would I be better off upgrading to something like Tom Tom ?
Thanks.

Do you still have the receipt?
You can always try contacting HP and asking for a duplicate CD.
Why bother upgrade when you have already have a working product? Or just upgrade your software?0 -
sorry, I meant just upgrade the software !
I have sent an e-mail to HP just waiting for their reply.

All sorted :j
HP were as much good as a chocolate tea pot, Curry's were not much better
I was overheard by a customer in Curry's as I was getting increasingly annoyed by the assistants manner and stooopid questions  "does it matter if you only have the trunk roads ? do you have to have the minor ones as well?" how dim is that ??, eventually as I was about to storm out, this customer came up to me and had a look as he has a similar one, and the problem was the map had somehow been deleted, but the software was still there, so all I had to do was go to the vanmichelin site and download the GB map back onto the SD card.
Simple when you knew how, obviously HP and Curry's didn't"Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0
