Hotels in Rome

Any recommendations for good, reasonably priced hotels in centre of Rome? Parents going mid September for three nights. Needs to be central.

We found our hotel a while back through tripadvisor - it's a great resource and has a forum for any questions too. Be warned though a lot of the popular hotels get booked up very early.

We stayed at Hotel Santa Maria which was lovely - but may not be central enough for your parents.

Rome is a wonderful city - they'll have a great time.

I'd recommend doing a search on https://www.venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too.

We went to Rome last October. Asked for hotel recommendations on MSE and was directed to Tripadvisor.com. Checked it out and based on others recommendations there, plumped for Hotel Ottocentro. Was very central. Walked everywhere. Delightful hotel. Would easily recommend to others. Not extortionate price, but not cheap either, but worth it for the the location and worth every penny. The hotel offered us taxi pick-up to and from airport too, which was great. Got a dirt cheap flight so splashed out on the taxi ride to make the hol that bit special.

    Hope that helps.
`Save a little money each month, and at the end of the year, you'll be suprised at how little you have.

The Hotel Amalia in the Vatican area. 3* in great location with loads of cafes, shops, bars (and the Vatican!) nearby but not noisy.

I walked past it, enviously, whilst in Rome at a nightmare 3* hotel on the outskirts - I recommended it to a family member who stayed there and thought it was fab. Rooms fairly basic by UK standards (3* not completely fab in Europe), but clean, comfortable, central and witha great hot/cold buffet breakfast.

Check octopus travel, last minute and hotel connect etc for the best deals...
