SofaSofa - Charlotte (Odeon range)

Does anyone have any experience with this company and especially the Odeon range?

My boyfriend and I are very keen on the Charlotte (2 & 3 seater).

This will be our first house and so our budget is quite small. We've looked into 0% finance deals with the likes of DFS/SCS but have heard nightmare stories of quality etc.

Also, are their low prices constant or are we likely to miss out as we don't move until the end of June?

We bought a sofa and a sofa-bed from sofasofa in 2008, from the "Turin" range. The price was obviously a big part of why we chose them, but we've had found them to be quite adequate in terms of the quality too: obviously not up to the standard of the best craftsman-made stuff, but certainly better than some "big name" sofas a relative bought at the same time for several times more money!

ETA: The prices seem to be consistently low. They have sales sometimes, certainly, but they don't swing wildly between crazily expensive and "70% off must end Monday" like some bigger brands. The delivery guys were pretty good too, and we had no problem getting them to deliver things up a rather narrow staircase!

    The Turin is lovely!

Ideally we'd like loose covers though. My mum and boyfriend have both expressed concern about the arms on the Charlotte - they're worried someone will sit on them and they'll break! I can't see that happening though
  • Got a couple of Odeon sofas with removable covers. Nice quality and the covers wash really well.

    Great for the price!

I have sofasofa sofabed, newport in Ivory, and a highback standford chair in co-ordinated sands iirc. BOth are excellent, low price and delivery was spot on. Highly recommend this company.

It helped we live near their showroom so could check them out! :)

The sofa that they ( tried ) to deliver to me broke in half as they took it off of the van.

It went straight back, I got a refund, but not the Credit Card charge that they imposed.

I'm in the Midlands but have a friend over in Cardiff so it's an excuse for a visit!

We've requested samples so have something to look at between now and then.

I may have been " unlucky " but it is exactly what happened, personally I don't think there should be an element of luck in buying a new sofa.;)

We've got two Aspen sofas from Thomas Lloyd through Sofa Sofa.

The sofa quality is brilliant. It's really comfortable and it withstands two children and a toddler rolling about on it!
Here I go again on my own....

I got a reltively cheap sofa when I moved into my flat in 2003. I was only there weekends (working away). By 2009 the sofa was beginning to fall apart. Not sure how long it'd have lasted if I'd been around all week.

Ask at the showroom about the sofa's lifespan. It may be more cost effective to get a more expensive one that lasts 15 years rather than a cheap one that lasts 5.

Measure all your doorways etc, and measure the sofa too. Mine only just went up the stairs because their description was innaccurate. Had to leave it behind when I moved because we'd replastered and the stairs became too narrow for it to go down!
