Hi, after reading many posts on here abouty it, i've finally decided to back up my files. I've bought an Iomega 1tb select.
After I,ve copied everything do I need to leave it plugged in or can i put it on the shelves out of sight out of mind?
Also if, in a couple of months ,i back things up again - if i press copy all will it make a duplicate copy of everything or just add on the new stuff?

Sorry I know these are the questions of a simpleton - its the stage i'm at now

Thanks

It's completely unnecessary for it to be permanently plugged in; you might even want to consider a secondary backup mechanism. I stress might...;)

That will depend on the specific Iomega backup software; but those settings can be changed (I would suspect) by yourself. Also remember, you can still use Windows backup and the drag and drop feature to copy/replicate files. Just ensure that you do not delete existing files on your hard drive - in other words, when you backup, have two/three duplicates of files.

    HTH.
