Can some one help me with a problem with a hotel complaint :)

Hi i am new here looking for some advice and hopefully will be able to help others :)

I recently stayed at a a holiday inn. I ordered room service at around 3am and got 3 sandwiches. I half of mine and my partner had his when he went to get the other sandwiche he for which i could only describe as a matted ball thick course hair. I was seriously ill from seeing it and was sick. my partner went to the reception and explain the problem so they deducted the price of the food off the bill. I feel that the fact of me and my partner not enjoying the whole evening due to this a spoiling what was meant to be a good time i would be entitiled to a bit more. Can someone please let me know what i should say them and what i should be entitiald to

Thank you verry much

Regards Nat x

Life's a bit too short  Something bad shouldn't undermine all the nice things that have happened.

  • I don't know what you would be entitled to in actual money terms but I would definately write to the Head Office.

Explain in great detail what happened, how you were physically sick (I would have been too) and how disappointed you were. Make sure you say that you weren't charged for the sandwiches in the end but that it spoilt your stay.

You could then leave it up to them to offer you something. I would think most probably the best they would offer is another stay or a reduced one. It would then be up to you whether you accept that or not.

Unfortunately, you may just get a letter of apology but I would still raise it with them because it is totally unacceptable. If you do just get the letter you could write again asking for some for of recompense but see what they offer first as you don't seem to have an actual figure in mind.

    Good luck with it.

Is that ok then? As long as it only happened in the early hours of the morning when the stay was nearly over it doesn't actually matter?

The evening was spoilt because its a constant reminder everytime she wants to look back at it.
