hello there i had my ford focus collected from my house and MOT'd last friday. i wasn't very happy that they had charged me a lot for a headlamp bulb and the labour was a bit ott but i let it go as i just wanted it done and dusted .
however i have gone out to use it today and my central locking no longer works on the button,only by putting the key in.
i changed the battery in the key fob but it makes no difference.
what i want to know is ;
1. are the garage liable for it ?
2. if it is not the key fob battery then what else could it be ?
i don't want to get fleeced again as i think they saw me coming the first time. thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

really should just a be a coincednce , the garage shouldnt have messed with anything to break your locking0

Probably disconnected the battery to change the bulb, (or didn't and blew a fuse)
try
http://www.programyourkeys.com/Ford_Focus_Key_Remote_Control_Fob_Programming.html
or google for your year of car.
Which focus is it?0 -
thankyou , it is a 51 reg focus but i am told it is older than that as it has an original radio cassette in it. (was registered late or something
)
that link to program my keys - if i do that will it cause problems if that is not the issue?
sorry to be asking obvious questions but i can only drive the car and my eldest son does the oil and everything0 -
My mums car had the same problem a few weeks back, it is on an X plate and the instructions in the manual are the same as what is on that link and it works and cant do any damage.0

Answer is no unless you can prove garage tampered with it which of course you will never be able to do.0
