When to inform Tax Credits?

I currently get Working & Child Tax Credits.

I'm leaving my current job this Friday and starting my new job on Monday. When do I inform Tax Credits? Do I end my current claim on Friday and start afresh on Monday? as technically I have 2 days where I am not employed.

Thanks in advance.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

You will not be ending your current claim and starting a new one on the Monday. As long as the gap is less than 7 days you will still count as being continiously employed. You can call them on the Monday and advise you have ended your old job on the Friday and started your new one on the Monday (remember to have your new PAYE or employers full address and postcode).

    Hi

You dont need to end your claim just give the new employer details and make sure you keep your earnings estimate on track so you dont end up with an overpayment.

I doubt they will send out a new award, they will just update the details, unless the salary has changed a lot
