Recommendations for day out in London with children & Restaurant

Hello

We are wanting to take a 16 yr old, 6 yr old and 18 month old for a day out in London in Feb.

Any recommendations on what to see or do that is suitable for all of us.

We also would like a good family restaurant recommendation too. We did like Planet Hollywood but went at Christmas and did not think it was as good since it moved site.

TIA X

My children love the Rainforest Cafe, but would recommend booking in advance at busier times.

Yes would have to second the rainforest cafe, have been twice now and my kids love it! The food is ok, nothing special and is quite pricey but have always found the service to be fab and the kids are fascinated by the whole thing!

Sorry just saw the bit about things to do, I have found the London Eye to be child friendly and we also did a boat tour from there too which was quite good but not very long. Really like the tower of london, and the national history museum. Not so keen on the science museum although some people do rave about it. The British museum is pretty good too and you used to be able to get an activity pack for the kids that they completed on the way round. Hope that helps.
  • Thank you all. All great suggestions and off to have a look at all the recommended's websites.

    Cheers

I would recommend Belgo's in Covent Garden. Covent Garden itself is lovely to wander about with all the shops, buskers, markets etc. Belgo's Centraal is a 10min. walk away. See the website - the best bit for me is 2 kids eat free for every adult order!
  • Cheers i wouldnt mind a walk round covent garden havent been yet :T

The Giraffe resturants are great for families and kids. They make the kids really welcome and the food is absolutely great, with loads and loads of lovely smoothies.

If you happen to be near the Tate Modern/Globe Theatre then I can recommend Tas Pide http://www.tasrestaurant.com/tas_pide/index.htm We hope to go there again in Feb half term, my kids are 12 and 9.
