LHA rates, help

I live in a 3 bedroomed house with my daughter, I also have a son who lives with his father. At present LHA only pay the rate for a 2 bedroomed. Is there anyway I can get them to up it to the 3 bedroomed rate as my son sometimes stays with me on weekends. Thankyou.

Depending on their ages, you might be told they have to share a room. (I have no idea of the ages and sharing a room)

    Hi there

If your son's main home is with his father then he would not be considered a part of your household and so you would not be entitled to a 3 bedroom.
I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

Not unless you are the main carer for him and you he is listed on your tax credits forms and get the child benefit for him
