help with hsbc

HSBC are terrible when it comes to charges. I have an account with them and when I use my card it takes days for it to come on my account so I believe I have more money than I really do have and I am constantly over my overdraft. That means I get a £25 charge everytime I go over.

Does this happen to anyone else and can anyone tell me what I need to do to reclaim my money back.

can you tell in laymans terms step by step as im a little slow

It doesn't happen to me. And I can assure you there are many other HSBC customers it doesn't happen to.

... but I'm sure you are not alone either!

With regards to attempting to reclaim, hopefully you've read the MSE article on reclaiming bank charges?
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges

Please ask if there is any specific part of that article that you don't fully understand.

I think to be honest that you might want to keep the receipts and if you check your statements online tick off the receipts you have against the statement online. Furthermore, most computers have a calculator usually within accessories section so calculate what you have left as opposed to the receipts you have. It should take only a few minutes each evening.
A new guide will be out this week with regards to reclaiming. My advice: read as much as you can and do not dive in without understanding what you are doing.

Ask HSBC to recall it under the DD debit scheme as it was taken in error.

I believe the OP is referring to payment card transactions, all of which I presume were authorised, just a little delayed in being posted to his account.
