Debit with Southern Gas / Electric

Hi, My daughter and Partner have just had a baby and have been hit with a £600 gas bill,this is due to only estimated bills for one and a half years. Does anyone now of any help / grants they can apply for? He has a full time job but are finding it hard to stop going into dedit. Thanks

    Why don't they just give a current reading and get the bill amended?

    If they contact their supplier, they should be able to agree a repayment plan regarding any amassed debt. Usually this can be negotiated over the period the debt accrued. i.e. 18 months in this case.
    (equivilent to repaying just over £1 per day :))

    Grants for the consequences of not comparing the bill with the meter? If they did that, then nobody would read the meter. Oh, wait, nobody reads their meter. Perhaps there are grants after all.
