Very poor service from our local Tesco!

Hi all,
I am just wondering what I could do about the extremely poor service we have recieved from Tesco grocery delivery. To cut a long story short, they have failed to deliver our shopping two days on the trot now. We only have mobiles, and have therefore spent several £'s on phone calls to the call centre, made a formal complaint via email, and yet, after trying to rearrange the delivery for today, the guy at the call centre said not to bother!! After he had spoke to the people working at the Redditch store to arrange something, the Tesco call centre operative himself said they were extremely unhelpful and even the team leader was very rude to him! We have now been given NO OTHER CHOICE, other than to shop elsewhere!
I feel the 'i'll take our business elsewhere' phrase will have very little impact on such a big business, so what do you guys suggest i do? Its so frustrating!
Marc

Have you been in to the store and asked to see the manager? Team Leader's are usually too big for their boots, so always get as high as you can. This is bizarre that they don't care, I guess tesco ar too big for their boots too! Keep writing letters of complaint but do pop into the store and head for the customer service desk and explain the situation (as calmly as possible!) and don't forget al you customer ref number etc.
Request a credit note for your inconvenience and expense incurred.0 -
Shop elsewhere?
Tesco are the only store that deliver to our area unfortunately. We rarely have the time, let alone the inclination to venture down to our local Morrissons! I hate shopping! :mad:Have you been in to the store and asked to see the manager?0 -
A big Tesco probably turns over £1 million a week, employs a few hundred staff, and if it is 24 hours must have a whole host of different managers and supervisors. Although it still shouldn't happen it is easy to see how it is difficult to get to the root of the problem and get someone to take responsibility and follow through on a request.
You would be best off to call to find out who you need to speak to first and when they are in. Chances are the person you need doesn't work 9-5 Mon-Fri. Going right to the top might not help as general managers don't always know much about day to day operations, instead go to the appropriate manager for that section.0 -
Go straight to the top and complain to Sir Terry Leahy, Tesco's Chief Executive. He will not reply, but one of his people will and usually very quickly.

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
You are best off just ringing the store direct rather than the call centre. Get the number off their website and then find a site to convert premium numbers to local numbers and ring the local number. Then just ask to speak to the duty manager, usually if you change the last two digits of the number you find to 66 you will get the duty manager. Our local stores number is 724100, but the duty manager is 724166. All their phones should be set up the same so there are certain numbers for certain phones but I do not know the version for dot.com manager. Checkout manager is 62, store manager 60.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
