The ticket has to be valid for travel on the day you claim the discount.
I think but am not sure that if you have advance singles each way and show them both you can get the discount on the dates in between.
How closely they check anyway I'm also not sure0 -
They ask you when you are travelling but when you print off the vouchers there are no dates on them.
I also found that the theatre company they use doesnt care if you travel by train or not if you ring them direct
