Am nearly up to the isa limit so OH will have to open up an isa so that i can put money into this. Have transferred the cheque amount over to the isa even though it wont clear for a few days. Want to earn as much interest as i can. Managed to earn £4 interest which made me v happy. Every little helps.

Am so annoyed - my kitchen sink is blocked and have tried plunging, using a sink unblocker product and even tried to clean the u bend - which i cant as i cant unscrew it, its too tight. AARGGHH - going to have to call a plumber in which i really dont want to do. Hopefully my dad will be able to fix it for me - fingers crossed.

Wish my dad lived nearer especially when i have similar problems good luck with a cheap fix plumbers seem to cost so much and even more at the weekends

Thanks Herewego. My dad is popping round today so fingers crossed he can fix it.

Have just rang up the scalifax to cancel the dreaded card, got put through to the loyalty department where i was told i could have been given a 0% rate for 6 months. I replied saying i had asked about offers before and that i was not given any. I love the way the cc companies try to keep you when you want to cancel but when you need their help they have nothing to offer you. Have had that card since 2001, glad its gone.

:j My dad came round and has fixed my sink. Am so glad my dad lives near enough to come round to do these jobs, also have got him lined up to sort out my toilet for me too. Aren't dads great?

A NSD too as I was supposed to go for dinner but thats been changed to later on in the week.

Have cancelled that dreaded scalifax card and the OH has opened a new isa too.

Have managed 240 situps and around 240 squats/lunges and did an exercise programme from fitness tv.

All in all its been a good MS day. :D

Lent has started and am giving up chocolate, crisps and biscuits. Last year i did the same but not the crips, this year this will help me to stay eating healthy. Got yoghurt, nuts and fruit for substitute snacks.

Have reduced the total i need to save by May to £5350 as i had overestimated. Will still need to save more before the wedding in July though for spending money for the honeymoon. Am hoping i get some money either towards the wedding or as a wedding present. Hoping from May to July I can save at least £500. Am going to be doing some overtime at Easter which should help with this.

Went to look for suits for the OH and the men in the family for the wedding today. Found some lovely suits and managed to get a discount too which was a result - a saving of £50.

Now the major things left are:
    1) dresses for bridesmaids
    2) wedding rings
    3) organising the hen and stag do's

The other stuff has to be organised via the wedding planner as we are getting married abroad and cant do much here on our side.

Went to eat lunch and went to a place which serves lovely chocolately milkshakes, i had to get a fruity one due to Lent. Apart from that though it has not been too bad today. Not feeling too hungry today too.

Had to quickly go into town this morning when i realised i did not have enough money in the account to pay for some payments i made yesterday. But was good and went in and out and did not buy anything. While i was waiting for the bus i did 135 squats, no one else was at the bus stop but passersby must have wondered what i was doing!

Called up the mortgage brokers to see whether i could get a better deal but i cant till i have 10% equitity in the house or £4600 so i can pay the ERC up front. Oh well at least i tried.

Today i received a cheque for £475 as i had opened two Scottish friendly bonds and i had to close one down. Its great when money comes to you when you least expect it. This is going straight into the wedding fund isa and am now up to 50%. The OH has to close his down too so hopefully we will get a cheque soon.

Just received an email saying that the OHs bond has been cancelled too and that they are sending us a cheque for £550. Hopefully this will come tomorrow though it will probably be more like next week. Will push the savings up to £3354 which is 63%. :T Now just got to find another £1996. Should be able to save some of Februarys salary though to push up the total to £3600.

Due to my Dad coming round to fix my toilet yesterday and me going to buy the parts he needed plus a doorbell and padlock, I spent yesterday. Though i will return the parts as my Dad did not end up needing them. Another thing he has fixed this week which has saved me lots of money. Getting the car serviced today so hopefully everything is fine. Have not had a NSD since Monday!

Received the confirmation letter from the Scalifax about the closure of this card.

Have joined another challenge the 'Cook something different challenge'. So my new recipe for the week is going to be cookies - chocolate chip and almond praline cookies. Need to use up some chocolate chips and almond praline plus if they turn out well then the OH wont have to buy the ones from the Tescos bakery.

Also i must remember to list my freezer and fridge today on ebay.
