Need Help, No Dial Tone, Just Static on Home Phone

HI, just hoping someone can help me out with my house phone. We had a phone call about an hour ago and when we answered the phone there was just very loud static. The internet is working which is on the same phone line and you can phone through to the line and it rings but when you pick it up you just get static on both ends. I have to digital handsets on the phoneline and they are both doing the same. Any help or advise would be great. I have tried unplugging the connection from the wall for a while but makes no difference.
