Mcafee removal just check before i do

Options
Hi

Bought Toshiba Satellite L450d-128 with windows 7 home premium and Mcafee 30 day trial preinstalled.
This is now up tomorrow so i plan to remove it using removal tool found on here and install MSE.
Presumably i uninstall Mcafee then reboot then install MSE.

Do i need anything esle other than MSE?

Thanks

  • I used Windows Add/Remove Programs first followed by the McAfee Removal Tool, then ran CCleaner to clean the registry and installed MSE. No problems so far.

Not sure if I need to install anything else though.

Hi alex, and congrats on your new laptop :T. I only run malwarebytes when/if I experience problems; others choose to run it periodically as a safety precaution. MSE is a nice security suite as it also includes built-in anti-malware protection  The Windows 7 firewall is also very decent, and just ensure that it is indeed on.

    HTH.
