Wii remote - Misleading advertising

Hi
I bought a Wii remote online at w w w techsava . co . uk. The picture clearly shows an official remote. However, they sent me a cheaper, unofficial remote. I have requested a refund from the site but so far have not had a reply!
I paid through Paypal as was an option on the site. When I complained to Paypal, they said it doesn't come under their protection.
Anyone know if there is anything can be done about misleading online shops. Anywhere to report them??
Any help, comments etc.
Regards,
Graham

these sorts of shops are indeed a wild west and you will only get a decent response from the larger online retailers. its bad luck for you, unless they are willing you will be banging your head on a brick wall for ages.
just had a good nose around their store, most things are advertised as 3rd party products but the wii remote does show the official one.
their terms clearly say you can return for a full refund, so despite them ignoring you, you will have proof of the date of your communications with them, good luck!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

I've also had a good look around since I have this complaint, and although they say you can get a refund "by clicking on the Returns button" - f***ed if I can find it.0

On their T&C's, it does say that the images are for illustration only and the actual product may differ.....
I've never used the site, so I don't know how it works - but have you logged in to your account? is it like Amazon - where you can't see the returns thingy unless you have actually got an order? Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Hmm, I've just seen that hidden away in 13 screen pages. I still think they've been deliberately misleading. How can they justify advertising a Wii remote next to a big picture of the official Wii remote, and then selling a copy?
In answer to your other question, you don't set up an account to buy, so no "Returns" button can't be found there

That is misleading in my opinion athough I would be wary about the heading "Wii Remote Controller for Nintendo Wii" and also the price.
What remote did you get for the price, I am looking for one and the best I could see was a madkatz remote for £21.00 inc p&p with discount or there is a Very (littlewoods ebay shop) code floating around that could get an official remote plus game for £22.00 inc p&p.0 -
Grahamt, it may well be worth a call to MK Trading Standards, as that is where the business is based - http://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/trading-standards/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=58172
They might at least be able to get you a telephone number??Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
Looking back now, it's my own fault for going for the cheapest price rather than a known shop.
The make is very similar to an official one but has the logo "Wu" with two dots on the "u". Thing is, it's meant to be a present for my nephew and he's specifically asked for the official one.
Anyway, today they got back to me and offered a full refund, although I have to send it back first, so anyone's guess if they do give it to me.0 -
As with ebay stuff - send it back signed for, so then you can prove that you've sent it.
Glad they eventually replied though...!!Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
