    The problem is that even though Natwest is owned by RBS, & RBS do the finance for Tesco, Mint etc, they are all separate companies & under the Data Protection Act they cannot divulge information to the other companies - this is where the law fails both the consumer & the finance industry...
    I believe this statement is incorrect. According to the RBS 'Legal Information'...
    Personal Data

    12 We may use and share your information with other members of the Group to help us and them:

    assess financial and insurance risks;
    recover debt;
    develop customer relationships, services and systems;
    prevent and detect crime;
    ...as the finance industry wouldn't be allowed to comment on a any customers accounts because of the afore-mentioned DPA.
    RBS issued a statement on how they had 'tried to help' the Caretaker. It went into detail about the products they had sold him, including consolidating his existing debt. The trouble was, he then ran it up again. I accept that they probably had to gain his permission to release this level of detail - which he obviously gave.

    Maybe as you are paying off the amounts in full they don't see you as a customer who is providing them with any profit and therefore feel you aren't worth having?

    In that case they could at least give an apology/explanation, as I said before its not them taking the card away that bothered me, it was the complete ignorance that I received from the company anytime I wanted to find out why this had been withdrawn - nobody would talk as soon as I mentioned it, I actually got the impression that nobody actually knew why - complete shambles!)... besides which the card was 0% interest for the next 9 months anyhow ;)
