We have just got a Howdens kitchen , we got 80% off the list price on most items , i beleive the discount varies depending on who you are and how much you use them

It was 9 units and 2 worktops, cost us £300 for a joiner to fit (cash), Homebase wanted £1450 to fit theres !!!!
  • 80% discount sounds great, are you happy with the quality from howdens, also £300 is a bargain for a kitchen fit i keep getting quoted a £1000.

Yes very happy, just got the cooker installed and its all complete, extremely happy with the results.

Quality is excellent, i would ask friends if they know a joiner who likes working for cash :)

I had Howdens units installed recently and am happy so far. Build quality seems fine. There were a few problems with the order being delivered correctly and on time but my fitter sorted these out by himself.
The discount varies depending on the relationship your fitter has with his/her usual Howdens office and varies by the unit style/range. More on cupboards, less on accessories etc. I got 70% off the list price of my cupboards.
    Good luck.
  • I have got a budget of about 2k and we like the howdens burford range but we need about 15 units in total can it be done with hard haggling or am i dreaming, if so who or were should i be looking on this budget, 2k doesnt include appliances we will buy these seperatly.
  • Got Howden's Burford kitchen recently myself and would echo the above. Sturdy and reasonably priced; few delivery issues but sorted; around 80% discount on units (some 85%); slightly less on sundries, e.g. taps. Easy to get extra bits and piecs when required as all in stock.

Dealt with Bootle branch direct who were happy to talk to me rather than my builder.

i am currently negotiating with howdens for a kitchen for my house, i am using the company who i work fors discount i m a joiner btw(they order hundreds if not thousands of kitchens a year from howdens- so i fully expect a good discount!)

the quote i am getting is equal to ikea, and from what i can tell the ikea sink and taps are of a higher standard than the basic ones that howden are offering.

i have been dealing with the same guy from howdens for a while now and i am struggling to get the quote down much below £1300 for a similar sized kitchen, the ikea kitchen is more or less the same although there are some differences between the 2 (the ikea worktop comes ready cut, carcass dont have shadow panels at the back to scribe to old walls and most importantly you would need to assemble the flat pack ikea carcasses)

it howdens drop there price ill deal with them if they dont ill go with ikea not much between them to be honest
  • The discount my fitter had with Howdens was 80 to 85% no problems with delivery and was installed the day the units were delivered which was essential as no room to start building up flat packs. Sourced sink, taps, worktops and appliances elsewhere.
  • thanks vixen, might try the bootle branch if cant get joy from the branch iam gonna use, ( huyton branch) my brother in law is a joiner so he gonna try and get me the best price, but dont think will go with them for sinks taps appliance,s etc, like greg says in his post even ikeas taps look better value but gonna source all my own appliances on net been trying ebay, dixons etc, still looking,,,, if you dont mind me asking vixen, who can you recommend the fitters on your kitchen and what did they charge
  • I've sent you a PM.
