Hi everyone, I'm trying to do something which hopefully would save me some money. but so far I failed, so I wonder if someone can tell me where I am going wrong. I would like to send the TV signal from my main TV to a DVD player using an AV signal sender. I don't have a scart socket on the DVD player, but I do have the AV in jack plags. So, I connected the AV receiver to the DVD player using the video jack lead (red, yellow and white), but unfortunately, all I'm getting is the sound from the TV - no picture. Is it perhaps because I'm sending a digital signal, as it works well if I connect to my other TV using a scart lead. Can someone please tell me why, and perhaps how to get round this problem.

What is it you hope to achieve by sending a TV signal to a DVD player?
Maybe model numbers would help people assist you?We all evolve - get on with it0 -
Being able to watch TV in my kitchen without the need to buy another TV. The portable DVD player has a 7 inch screen which is adequate for the periods of time while I'm cooking - sad I know!!!0

Now I understand.
And these connections are an aux input on the DVD player I take it?
If it is indeed an aux input I cannot think why you are not getting a picture.
Is the scart plug at the TX end plugged in properly - simple thing I know but a very common fault with the dreaded scartWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
yes it is an aux input. It's the same onw I use for a camcoder using the same type of cables, and that works fine. This is why I thought it might be because I'm sending a digital signal that it is not working, and perhaps the dideo cables do not support digital. As I said, it all works fine if I use the scart lead, but this is on the other TV, but the DVD player does not have scart input. Help - the idea seems plausible, but I don't know why it's not working. Now I understand.

What make is the DVD and what make is the video sender? We all evolve - get on with it0

The DVD player is a Ferguson and the AV sender is Total Control. I don't think the problem is with the equipment though as it all works fine if I connect it with the scart lead. The problem is when I use the video cables.0

Did you select AV or AUX input ?0

I'm not sure what you mean. I just connected the phono leads to the video input on the dvd player ie the yellow (video) and white (sound)totalsolutions wrote: »Did you select AV or AUX input ?0 -
You need to select aux input on the DVD player so it knows to use that as a source as opposed to the DVD itselfWe all evolve - get on with it0
