I shouldn't think he does many Alfas for that money, bearing in mind what has to be done with the variators and the like.
£80 does sound a bit on the cheap side, but there are a lot of people willing to charge less and get the trade - fair play to them.
I think my Mondeo (1.8 Zetec) was around £110, included in the service, and if this is your first cam belt change, then I would get it done ASAP, because the years and the mileage count.0 -
Certainly sounds cheap. Things to consider are:
Does the tensioner need to be changed as well?
Is the water pump driven from the cambelt?
What sort of warrenty do you get?
One thing is for sure - cambelts are one item of servicing that should never be missed!0 -
the water pump is driven from the cambelt on the zetec engines and they have a propensity to fail between 80k and 100k (at least, they did on the escorts - focus may be different) so its probabally worth asking to have that done at the same time.Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0
