speeding ticket: not sure if i was there?

hay got a nip on saturday saying i was caught speeding on the a538 macclesfield town centre
36 in a 30 at 1258 on the 4th jan
only thing is i finnished work in disley at 1145 it takes about 25 mins for me to get home and i would have gone straight home as had and always do have a night shift the same day so like to get a bit of sleep in, i dont think i even have to go on that road on the way home, can i ask to see the pictures before i sign the form and send it back?

You can ask but they won't necessarily alow you to see them. Infact if you use the reason you stated on here with them I doubt they'd let you see them at all because if you're saying you would have been home in bed by 12:10 but the offence was commited at nearly 13:00 on a road you did't use on the day then you know you won't be in the picture so the prosecution have no reason to show them you. Has your plate been stolen?

its a car i got of insurance company while mine is being repaired so no not stolen plates to my knowledge. what if i say im not sure who was drivin would i get to see then? i just dont understand. why do i have to admit to something that im not sure of.
if i was speeding then ill take the fine and points im not bothered about that its just im not sure it would be possible for me to be there at that time and there are so many storys of wrong speeding tickets could it be possible they have the wrong date/time if so ill hold my hands up.

First step is to ask for the photos, maybe if you point out that it was a hire car then they may be more willing to help.

OP, don't ask for evidence (because you're not entitled to see that at this stage). Write back and ask for photos to assist you to identify the driver.

As a loan car it almost certainly belongs to a hire company. They are the registered keeper and would have received the notice of prosecution and would then have responded by naming you as the driver. They should have told you.

This is worth investigating.

It's happened to me. I asked for photos and got them. You are entitled to see the evidence. Pictures taken are NOT evidence of who was driving though may jog your memory.

You are not entitled to see evidence until after the issue of court proceedings, which is why the OP needs to ask to see the photos to assist him in identifying the driver. "Evidence" should not mentioned, as the police/SCP may refuse to disclose the photos.

To be fair if you can't remember if you were on the road just over two weeks after the event you shouldn't be on any road ever

umm to be fair not quite sure what your trying to say there, im on many roads as i work as a community carer so its a bit hard to remember what roads you have been on when you could be anywhere in cheshire , cheers for the input.... i think

If you are unsure, i'd say definitely ask for some photos to help you identify the driver.
